A Washington Post/ABC News poll shows that if the election were held on September 23, former US President Donald Trump would defeat current President Joe Biden with a margin of 10% of the popular vote.

Poll results published on September 23 showed that 52% of respondents would choose Mr. Trump and 42% would side with Mr. Biden, while the remainder were undecided or would not vote.

When Washington Post/ABC pollsters asked the same question in February, Mr. Trump led Mr. Biden by 4 points, at 48% to 44%.

This result is different from a series of recent polls, when Mr. Trump was only slightly ahead or in a tug of war with Mr. Biden.

An NBC News poll, also released on September 23, showed that Mr. Trump and Mr. Biden were tied at 46%, while a Fox News survey last week ranked Mr. Trump ahead of Mr. Biden by a margin.

However, before facing Mr. Biden a second time, Mr. Trump will have to defeat a group of opponents including Republican candidates who are hoping to win the party’s nomination for president.

The results of major polls all show that Mr. Trump is leading the Republican party, while Mr. Biden also told sponsors that Mr. Trump is `destined to become the candidate again`.

According to a Washington Post/ABC survey, Mr. Trump is leading nearly 40 points over the Republican Party’s biggest rival, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, with a ratio of 54% compared to 15%.

However, both Mr. Biden and Mr. Trump face major obstacles in their efforts to run for the White House.

Mr. Trump will enter next year’s election season with more than 90 charges in four separate cases, related to allegations of efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, mishandling of classified documents and payments.

Mr. Trump affirmed that the charges against him were politically motivated and that the Justice Department of President Biden’s administration was trying to remove him from the race for the White House.

For Mr. Biden, the main concern will be convincing voters that he is suitable to be the next US president.

According to the latest poll, three-quarters of respondents said that Mr. Biden is too old to continue a second term.

According to a recently released CBS News poll, 34% of American voters believe that Mr. Biden will complete his second term, while the same number believes that the 80-year-old president is no longer suitable for the presidency.
