The international photography competition – Siena International Photo Awards 2016 has just officially closed.
Last November, the results of the best photos were announced by the jury.

First prize in color photo category: Making fishing nets – Danny Yen Sin Wong.
The Malaysian author captured the moment a fishing village woman in Phan Rang wearing a conical hat was weaving a net.

First prize in the tourism category: Strawberry Greenhouses – Leyla Emektar (Türkiye).
The perfectly coordinated photo of symmetrical colors was taken by author Leyla in her hometown.
First prize in the nature category: The Power of Nature – Giuseppe Mario Famiani (Italy).
First prize in the photo of the year category: Sardine Run – Greg Lecoeur (France).
French photographer – Lecoeur took home the grand prize of the Siena International Photo Awards 2016. He recalls: “During the migration of sardines along the South African coast, all predators hunt
First prize in the black and white photo category: A man feeding swans in the snow – Marcin Ryczek (Poland).
Ryczek cleverly takes advantage of the contrast between the color of the water and the shore, between the man and the swans to create contrast.
First prize in the wildlife photography category: Sharing Resources – Audun Rikarsen (Norway).
The work depicts the coordination of survival in wild life.
First prize in the sports photo category: Urban skiing in the Arctic – Audun Rikardsen (Norway).
This Norwegian photographer was perhaps the biggest winner of the awards night.
First prize in the Storyboard category: Refugee Stream – Jacob Ehrbahn (Denmark).
These moving images capture the moment Syrian and Afgani refugees arrived on the Greek island of Lesbos.
First prize in the wine category: Joy of a Farmer, Romania – Gianluca De Bartolo (Italy).
Old Romanian farmer kisses the fruits of his labor after harvesting.
First prize in the architectural category: Warp Speed, Tokyo – Mike Hollman (New Zealand).
The photo capturing the moment while traveling on the Yurikamome train line in Tokyo, Japan brought Mike the win in the architecture category.
First prize in the people and portrait category: Mother and Son – Jiming Lv (China).
First prize in the Student Photographer category: Ofelia – Krishna Vr (Mexico).
The Siena International Photo Awards contest is also where young talents are discovered and honored.
Third prize in the tourism category: Floating market work – Antonius Andre Tjiu (Malaysia).
Honorable mention in the tourism category: Jodhpur family, Rajasthan – Isa Ebrahim.
Cultural world
Maha Maamoun – African contemporary art photographer
Although only in its second year, the Siena International Photo Awards 2016 has left a strong mark in the photography community.
Honorary prize in the tourism category: Ripples in tea – Hong Ding (China).
Third prize in color photo category: Central Black, Bahrain – Isa Ebrahim.
Award for notable photo in the color photo category: Sprinkle Net – Fuyang Zhou.
